Gratituesday: Mornings

I'm going to do something I don't normally do: I'm going to quote me. It's not that I think I'm such a great philosopher, or that I speak eloquently (I'm not and I don't), its just that I said something here that pretty much sums up what I'm grateful for this day.
Good morning! I am neither bright eyed nor bushy tailed but I am awake this morning, and happily so. I have my son demanding "EAT!!" and a furball demanding attention. In all, it's a typical morning here. Although I did not see the actual sunrise this morning, from my vantage point I watched it grow lighter and brighter outside, and saw the bus come to pick up the neighborhood kids. I enjoy life in the mornings.
I love mornings. I'm at my best in the mornings, provided I got enough sleep the night before. I haven't yet learned to choose to be happy in all circumstances, although I want to work on that. In truth, unless I get seven or eight hours of sleep (uninterrupted, please), I'm a grouch. Give me a few minutes to growl and rub the sleep out of my eyes, and read the bible and eat (Right about now on some tv shows you would see a counter pop up to count all the 'and's) AND (sorry, couldn't resist that one) I'm good to go.
I do enjoy mornings though. Maybe not as early as J does, with his four thirty or five AM baths where he sings and giggles. I'm more of a 6:30, sevenish morning person. I enjoy my routine of feeding cats, feeding my soul, getting breakfast ready for my family (or waiting for breakfast if The Hubby is cooking). I like seeing the world around me wake up a bit. If something needs to be done here at the house, morning is the best time for me. After two o'clock in the afternoon my get up and go has generally got up and went without me.
What about you? When is your favorite time of day? Is it when you're most productive, or when things are quiet? Let me know. Have a great day!

  1. The hour after the kids have left for school and the hubby kisses my good-bye is the hour I feel the most productive. The house gets a quick once over and I make myself presentable inside and out... THEN I feel ready to take on the world.

    1. You know, I sometimes miss having J go off to school for that particular reason --having the place to myself for a bit! But J naps mid morning or mid afternoon so I still get the time to myself. Thanks for reading and commenting. :)
