Confessions of a Disorganized Housewife -Still Decluttering

This begins week two of Simple Mom's   Project Simplify. I didn't get all of what I wanted accomplished last week, but that's okay. We made some headway in the abyss that is my son's room.
This week we're in the kitchen. Simple Mom is focusing on the fridge and the pantry. Both of those are in serious need of help here, and if I get a chance I'm going to tackle my cabinets and storage areas as well. I have a tiny kitchen and this place needs to run more efficiently. To do that, I need to purge more of the clutter and figure out zones. I've lived in this house for two years and have yet to make it into an actual home. While we are still looking for a place closer in to The Hubby's work, or a job closer to here, we I need to learn to be content where I am.
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
  Hebrews 13:5

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
  Philippians 4:11-13
Even Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu had this to say about it: " Be content with what you have, rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.
This Friday there will be pictures, I promise. The whole scary deal. If you're joining me and Simplemom.net, do what you can. Take it one task at a time. What part of the kitchen will you be decluttering this week?  Get ready... set... Declutter and Organize!  Have a great day, all.

  1. I know what you mean about not settling down in a house. I, too, finally decided I just need to make the best of the home we have instead of living in a mess until we move...someday. I've been doing the Flylady system (kinda), and it's helped a lot. I just started checking out Simple Mom after reading your post here.

  2. Thank you for reading and commenting! I'm so glad Flylady has helped you. I've ready her posts for years and it worked but I'd get so overwhelmed at times because I wanted to do the missions but what I really needed to do was declutter a lot first. With the one's I've been reading now, simple mom and a slob comes clean, I think I'm getting it. :)
